Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) has been proven to be effective in treating symptoms related to emotional trauma, such as borderline personality disorder (BPD), complex post-traumatic disorder (CPTSD), suicidal ideation, as well as anxiety and depression. It allows for the integration and acceptance of upsetting or traumatic experiences, while helping patients tolerate stressful experiences, regulate emotions, and improve interpersonal skills.

DBT leads clients to understand the chain of events that have led to disordered thinking and/or relating and the subsequent behavioral patterns which limit living a comfortable and fulfilled life.
