Psychotherapist

Personal Quotation and/or a Statement: “Everything you want is just outside your comfort zone” -Robert Allen

I was born and raised in Colorado then moved to multiple cities and landed in Florida. I have been working in the field of mental health since 2015 working within various clinical settings and with a wide range of diverse clients. I have extensive professional experience working with children, young adults, and families by supporting them to navigate through critical stages of personal growth and development.

Since 2015, I have continued to narrow my focus. My current focus is using skills from CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and DBT (dialectical behavior therapy). The overall goal is to further understand how our thoughts and emotions impact our behavior while learning best practices to obtain a more desirable outcome. I am also Level 1 Gottman trained, which supports couples in increasing relationship satisfaction and decreasing conflict.

I went into the mental health field to educate and create awareness of how therapy can change lives. Therapy is not a one size fits all approach; therefore, you get an opportunity to create a unique experience. I believe the client is the expert on their own life, you are in the driver’s seat. I use a trauma-informed care approach which allows therapy to start in whatever space you are in. We will explore your ideal goals for yourself and I will assist you in recognizing and understanding your truth, as well as grow in areas that will assist you in living your best life.

I believe that there is enormous strength in seeking support in navigating life’s difficulties and that all of our experiences and interactions mold us into the people we are today. I strive to consistently provide a safe and authentic space. I remind my clients that healing is not linear but a journey and that the journey is what makes us special. I truly enjoy being a mental health counseling intern, especially during the moments I witness clients discover new things about themselves and feel empowered to make decisions confidently about their own lives.

In my free time, you can find me at the beach, with my dogs or painting. I love enjoying the outdoors and trying new food eateries. I also spend a lot of my time in the community, pushing positivity and progression to young adults and collaborating with other visionaries.
