FAMILY & COUPLES THERAPY

We experience different types of relationships throughout our lives – family, friends, and romantic partners.

These relationships are all valuable, and can provide us with a great deal of joy, support, and security.

While relationships can be simple, they can also be alarmingly complex.

And, while they are a force for good in our lives, they can be challenging to navigate when problems arise.

What is Relationship Therapy?

Relationship Therapy, also known as family counseling, couple’s counseling or couple’s therapy, is a form of counseling focused on supporting people improve their relationship by addressing the needs of each individual as well as improving communication and the relationship that exists between them.

Relationship therapy is most often thought to be sought by people who are on the brink of divorce, or are experiencing family conflict, but it is also sought by people who simply want to strengthen their relationships and come to a place of better understanding those with whom they are close.

  • They have experienced a major life change, such as a new marriage, the birth of a child, a career and/or lifestyle change, or moving to a new home
  • They have trouble making decisions together
  • Arguments seem to be unsolvable, or
  • They just want to understand each other more and strengthen their relationship.
